Best Time to Visit Ayodhya
Ayodhya can be visited year-round, but the ideal time is October to March when temperatures are between 10°C and 25°C.
- Oct – Mar: Best weather. Deepotsav (Oct–Nov) and Makar Sankranti (Jan) are spectacular.
- Apr – Jun: Scorching heat up to 45°C. Visit only in the early morning. Ram Navami (March–April) is crowded but magnificent.
- Jul – Sep: Monsoon. The Saryu rises beautifully but some ghats may be submerged. Fewer tourists.

By Air
Maharishi Valmiki International Airport now operates regular flights from Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai and Hyderabad. The airport is 8 km from city centre.
By Train
Ayodhya Dham Junction is well-connected to all major Indian cities. From Lucknow: 1.5 hrs; Varanasi: 3 hrs; Gorakhpur: 2 hrs.
By Road
